Rowan is only seven years old, but his life has already changed in ways no child or parent could ever be prepared for.
After a sudden and serious illness, Rowan began experiencing severe seizures and spent an extended period in the hospital. Doctors are still unable to give his rare condition a definitive diagnosis. What his family does know is that the illness changed his everyday life completely. Today, Rowan needs full assistance with mobility, communication, and eating.
Through every difficult day, his mother, Sarah, has remained by his side. As a single parent, she carries the responsibility of caring for Rowan, taking him to appointments and therapies, helping with his daily needs, and doing everything she can to give him comfort, stability, and opportunities to experience the world around him.
But Rowan is growing. Each transfer from his bed to his wheelchair, and from his wheelchair into a standard car, is becoming harder and less sustainable. Something as ordinary as going to school, attending therapy, visiting the hospital, or spending time with family can become an exhausting challenge before the journey has even begun.
A wheelchair-accessible van could change that. It would allow Rowan to remain safely secured in his wheelchair while traveling and give Sarah a more reliable way to take him to the places that are essential to his care and development. It could mean safer trips to medical appointments, easier access to therapies and school, and more chances for Rowan to participate in family outings and everyday moments that every child deserves to experience.
This is more than a vehicle. For Sarah and Rowan, it represents safety, mobility, independence, and a wider world of possibilities. It is a long-term solution designed to continue supporting Rowan as he grows and his mobility needs change.
This Humanity Bridge page is sharing Rowan's story to help his family move closer to that goal. Every contribution, regardless of size, can help bring them one step closer to transportation built around Rowan's needs. And if donating is not possible, sharing his story can help it reach someone who may be able to help.
Thank you for standing with Sarah and Rowan. Your kindness can help make the road ahead safer, easier, and filled with more opportunities for Rowan to simply experience life beyond the limits of his condition.
